Air-oil separator for Asgard A

IPPS and Halvorsen Offshore will supply and install four air-oil separators for Asgard A platform. The order has a size of around nine million NOK.
An air-oil separator separates the oil from the ventilation air from the gas turbine and is then returned to the oil tank. This reduce the oil spill from the turbines to the environment.

- This is a challenging project that must satisfy all of Statoil's requirements for engineering, construction and materials. We produced such a separator for Asgard B platform in 2011, and it's great to get the delivery of four new one, says Knuth Jahr, Product Manager, Gas Turbine Systems, in the Halvorsen company Inventa IPPS.

Stricter environmental regulations

It is expected that the government tightens environmental standards in this area and the introduction of the ordinance of similar treatment for all turbo installations in the North Sea.

- New environmental standards makes this delivery especially interesting for us. Our experience makes us well positioned to receive more similar missions in the future, said Jahr.

The four air-oil separators, each of 0.9 tonnes, will be manufactured at Halvorsen Offshore in Kvinesdal.
