After several hundred hours of welding and other mechanical work, the coalescer could be transported out of the workshop hall.

- All rolling, welding, bending of plates and NDT testing is carried out at our workshop in Kvinesdal. The tank was also designed by our own engineers, says Kai Arne Reppen, who is foreman in the workshop.

The coalescer measures over 18.5 metres. It is part of a larger order for Aker BP's Yggdrasil project.

A coalescer is a device used in the process industry, especially in oil and gas processing, to separate phases from each other, typically liquids or liquid-gas mixtures.

The main function of a coalescer is to collect (coalesce) small droplets of one phase into larger droplets so that they can be more easily separated from the other phase.

Full pipe production in the workshop

Tratec Halvorsen now produces frame structures, pipes and tanks for two large development projects on the Norwegian continental shelf.

A record-sized tank is produced in the workshop

A larger tank has never been produced in Tratec Halvorsen's workshop. The 6Mo tank measures almost 20 meters.
