Only particles smaller than one millimeter pass through the seawater filter of this new ski.

The installation was delivered to the customer, Aker Solutions, in mid-April. It has replaced a mobile skid of the same type on the Ekofisk field in the North Sea.

- IT IS NOT longer allowed to have temporary equipment of this type on board. Therefore, we were asked to produce a skid that could stand on the platform permanently. And it should be as similar as possible to the one that stood there before, says project manager Kurt Ivar Ramsli.

The ski is equipped with a fine-mesh seawater filter that must be able to cope with high pressure.

- It has a filter that can withstand a lot of beating, says Ramsli.

HE DESCRIBES the ski as a solid upgrade from the previous one that stood on the platform.

- Although it is very similar to the previous one, there is no doubt that the quality has been significantly increased. The customer has had very specific wishes, and we have delivered according to these. A successful project for all involved, maintains Ramsli.
