New skid ready for British shelf

800708 - Skid Insulation 2

A new skid from Tratec Halvorsen with two large filters is on its way out to the Seagull field outside Aberdeen.

- Work began in the workshop before Christmas last year. There is a skid with coils, pressure tanks and valves. It will be used to purify seawater, says project manager Kurt Ivar Ramsli.

The dimensions of the ski are 2560 x 2100 x 3500 millimetres, and it weighs 3700 kilos.

The installation was completed this summer, and was then transported west. It currently stands in Peterhead, a town north of Aberdeen. But the final destination is a platform on the Seagull field.

Tratec Halvorsen's customer is Veolia. But the end customer is BP in Great Britain.
