- Tratec Halvorsen is an exciting company and a great workplace in Kvinesdal. For us, it is very useful to get to know the company better.

That's what Kvinesdal's mayor Per Sverre Kvinlaug says. On Tuesday 25 October, he, the five mayoral colleagues from Lister and the general manager of the Lister collaboration made the trip to Øyesletta and Tratec Halvorsen.

- The mayors meet once a month, and then we like to include a company visit in the municipality where we are meeting. This time we were in Kvinesdal and it was therefore natural to pay Tratec Halvorsen a visit, says Kvinlaug.

THE MAYORS was given an insight into the company's products and production by general manager of Tratec Halvorsen, Frode Olsen. He also explained which strategy and which investment plans are needed to be able to become even more competitive pressure- and temperature-sensitive products.

Other topics during the visit were recruitment and offshore wind.

- It is important for us politicians to know where the pressure is on companies when it comes to recruiting personnel, so that we can contribute with the right measures. If we manage to tie the region together and address our common challenges, we will be stronger together, says Kvinlaug.

AS KNOWN wants the Lister region to become Norway's new offshore wind capital. Kvinlaug believes that Tratec Halvorsen's experience in the oil-related industry can be useful in this venture.

- The company knows a lot about working in the field, and also has enormous expertise in pressure tanks, says Kvinlaug.

Bjørn Helleren, head of sales, service and aftermarket at Tratec Halvorsen, received the mayor's delegation together with general manager Frode Olsen.

- It is nice to be able to inform the political leaders in the region about what we need in terms of personnel, so that they can organize in the best possible way, says Helleren, who also took the mayors into the workshop.

- I THINK THEY was impressed by the work we do with life extension of equipment for the offshore industry, says Helleren.

Lyngdal mayor Jan Kristensen confirmed his excitement in a Facebook post where he writes:

"An exciting company with a long history and high competence and quality in several specialist areas. The company has a great development with good results and bright future prospects."
