- For us, it is extremely important to show ourselves off to school pupils who will soon be applying for an apprenticeship, says Bjørn Helleren, head of sales and marketing at Tratec Halvorsen.

The students who visited take technology and industrial subjects (TIF). After two years at school, they will start an apprenticeship.

Tratec Halvorsen is interested in new apprentices in both the field of industrial mechanics and welding.

The young people spent half the school day at Øyesletta. They first got to hear John Vester Nielsen, head of fabrication, talk about the operation. Then Evan Nathaniel Johnsen gave them an insight into life as an apprentice. He is scheduled to take a vocational certificate in the autumn after a two-year apprenticeship in the workshop.

- The pupils got to talk to the apprentices and look at things that have been made in previous subject tests. We then took them on a tour of the workshop, where they could see, among other things, the new welding robot that is being assembled, says Helleren.
