With this investment, we are well-equipped to face the future, says Frode Olsen, CEO of Halvorsen.<\/p>\n<p>By automating the welding process, the number of man-hours required for multi-layer welding is reduced, while defects and flaws are significantly minimised.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 We will still need many skilled welders. The welding robot will help compensate for the shortage of qualified welders we have in Norway, says Olsen.<\/p>\n<p>Following the winning of several contracts for the Yggdrasil project, workshop activity in 2024 has been at a record high.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 With this investment, we will be internationally competitive, even against countries with lower labour costs, stresses Olsen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THREE TANKER,<\/strong>\u00a0A quadratic storage tank with a total volume of 120 cubic metres has already been delivered to the customer.<\/p>\n<p>The largest tank ever produced in the workshop is now being completed, a 6Mo tank that measures almost 20 metres in length. In addition, frantic work is underway on seven skid packages, consisting of frame structures, pipes and tanks.<\/p>\n<p>One of these tanks is now connected to the new welding robot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE STATION\u00a0<\/strong>is very versatile. It can handle workpieces with diameters from 500 to 5000 millimetres, lengths up to 20000 millimetres and spigots from 25 to 1000 millimetres.<s><\/s><\/p>\n<p>In addition to stub ends, the station can weld circular and longitudinal weld seams, support legs and other external components.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 When the station reaches full capacity, we expect to achieve time savings of between 60 and 70 percent, says Olsen.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After several months of installation and testing, the robotic welding station is ready for use.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":581,"template":"","class_list":["post-580","prosjekt","type-prosjekt","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/halvorsen.no\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/prosjekt\/580","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/halvorsen.no\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/prosjekt"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/halvorsen.no\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/prosjekt"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/halvorsen.no\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/581"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/halvorsen.no\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=580"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
