- All welding, plate bending and NDT testing have been carried out in our workshop in Kvinesdal. The tank has also been designed by our own engineers, says Kai Arne Reppen, who is the workshop foreman.
The coalescer measures over 18.5 metres. It is part of a larger order for Aker BP's Yggdrasil project.
A coalescer is a unit used in the process industry, particularly in oil and gas treatment, for separating phases from each other, typically liquids or liquid-gas mixtures.
The main function of a coalescer is to gather (coalesce) small droplets of one phase into larger droplets, so that they can be more easily separated from the other phase.
