– This is a relatively complex order. We’ve had 6-8 men working full-time on the job since the summer, says John Vester Nielsen, who is head of fabrication at Halvorsen.

A skid is a steel frame onto which portable equipment is mounted. The installation destined for Mongstad has 14-inch pipe spools and pressure vessels with valves, each weighing 1500 kilograms. It is seven metres long, four metres wide, and four metres high.

– We also made railings, ladders and grating. Before the facility was collected by boat on 3 January, we carried out pressure testing and leak testing, says Nielsen.

The order from Aker Solutions. It's not every year that Halvorsen receives such an order.

– It’s been a while since we last produced a skid, but we’re hoping it won’t be too long until the next time, says Nielsen.
