"The platform is 2.5 times 2.5 metres and will be installed on a platform at the Gina Krogh field," says Fabrication Manager John Vester Nielsen.

Gina Krog has been developed with a bottom-fixed platform, which is connected to Sleipner A and utilises both processing capacity on the platform and existing pipelines to send the gas on to the market in Europe.

The oil from the field is transported via a floating storage unit located on the field, which is operated by Equinor.

We got this job through a collaboration we have with the company Firesafe, which works with fire protection. As Firesafe does not have its own mechanical production, we were asked to make the deck hatch, says Nielsen.

This is the second deck hatch Halvorsen has produced. Nielsen hopes it won't be the last.

– We are well-equipped in the workshop to take on this type of assignment, he says.
