Filters that can take a lot of abuse

When particles smaller than a millimetre pass through the seawater filter of this new skid.

The installation was delivered to the customer, Aker Solutions, in mid-April. It has replaced a mobile skid of the same type on the Ekofisk field in the North Sea.

– IT IS NOT The length permitted for temporary equipment of this type on board. Therefore, we were asked to produce a skid that could stand on the platform permanently. And it should be as similar as possible to the one that was there before, says project manager Kurt Ivar Ramsli.

The boat is equipped with a fine-mesh seawater filter that should be able to handle high pressure.

– It has a filter that can take a lot of punishment, says Ramsli.

He describes This is a solid upgrade from the previous one that was on the platform.

– Although it is very similar to the previous one, there is no doubt that the quality has been significantly improved. The customer had very specific requests, and we have delivered according to these. A successful project for everyone involved, maintains Ramsli.
