Through video presentations, Aker BP will showcase its Norwegian subcontractors in the Yggdrasil project. Among the companies that are highlighted is Tratec Halvorsen.

- This is fantastic fun, and a unique opportunity for us to show who we are and what we do to an important audience, says marketing manager Bjørn Helleren at Tratec Halvorsen.

He himself has a leading role in the film, which was recorded in the workshop at Øyesletta in Kvinesdal.

AKER BP HAS shown the videos at various events and in social media this summer to show

local and national politicians and stakeholders that the company delivers as promised on the intention of the activity package, which involves securing activity, developing competence and further developing the industry in Norway.

Tratec Halvorsen participates in the Yggdrasil project with the fabrication of large process tanks. The agreement will have a total value of over NOK 100 million.

– THE CONTRACT enables us to employ engineers, production personnel and apprentices for approximately two years. It also contributes to us being able to invest in future-oriented robotic welding machines, which in turn make us competitive in the international market, says Helleren.

In June this year, the Storting approved development plans for three new oil fields in the North Sea - Yggdrasil, Valhall and Fenris.

Yggdrasil is believed to have an investment framework of NOK 115 billion. The other two projects are estimated to cost NOK 50 billion.

AKER BP IS operator for the fields, but we therefore use a number of subcontractors in the development work.

- The projects create significant ripple effects, provide security for people and work and, not least, income for the state. These are enormously large projects that provide work along the entire coast, said Oil and Energy Minister Terje Aasland during the Storting's consideration of the project.

THE YGGDRASIL DEVELOPMENT, which was adopted at the meeting, has expected recoverable resources of 650 million barrels of oil equivalent. For Valhall and Fenris, recoverable resources are expected to be 367 million barrels of oil equivalent.

The developments will be powered by shore power and are scheduled to start in 2027.

- There will be activity at the shipyards in Egersund, Stavanger, Haugesund, Stord, Verdal and Sandnessjøen, as well as at a number of suppliers across the country, Aasland said.
